Flexible Period Determination

With this solution you can customize how periods for Derivative Contract Specification should be derived. It offers a broad set of rules that cover definitions from major exchanges.

Benefits

No Need to Manually Maintain DCS Periods

Maintaining DCS Periods manually is an additional regular manual effort, as it needs to happen as soon as new maturity is available. Further SAP considers the periods to be customizing, which makes it not only necessary to maintain the periods, but also to transport them to Production. This solution takes that burden by providing the option to customize the rules for determination once and have the periods be derived automatically.

No Need to Develop your own Determinations

Developing your own Determinations gives you flexibility, but also requires additional development everytime a new DCS is introduced. This solution allows you to introduce new DCS without the need of new developments, but instead only by customizing the period determination rules.

Define Periods Exactly the Way You Need Them

Sometimes the periods from the exchange are not fitting your business needs to 100%. With this solution you can address that by defining the period determinations in a way that suits you best. For example you could define an additional offset for the start of the contract period.

Features

Define DCS Periods based on Rules

A DCS always consists of a set of periods which are defined by the exchange. To maintain them SAP offers Option to maintain them manually, use one of the standard definitions, or code your own derivation logic. With this solution you can customize them once and periods will be derived automatically.

The SAP interface seamlessly integrates DCS, showcasing derivative contract specifications with details like contract type, period settings, and rule assignment. Fields for contract condition and period types are also available for comprehensive management.

Define Periods for All Different Derivative Categories of a DCS

This solution covers all available Derivative Categories that a DCS can have. Periods can be defined for Commodity Future DCS, Commodity Forward Index DCS as well as for Listed Options DCS

Covers Rules from a Broad Range of Exchanges

Instead it supports lots of exchanges like for example Osaka Exchange and Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange.
